Who we are
Recruitment Connected is run by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal information described in this notice, which means we decide how it is used.

What this notice covers
This notice explains how we handle personal information when you visit this website or send us an enquiry. It does not cover the websites, forms or systems we build for clients: each client decides how the information in their own systems is used, under their own privacy notice.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect the details you choose to give us:
- your name, work email address and company or agency name
- what you are interested in (for example a new website, a Giig integration or digital forms)
- optionally, your phone number, your website address and the recruitment system you use
- your message
Please don’t include candidate details, payroll information, passwords or API keys in an enquiry. If you do, we will delete them.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure, and it is held in short-lived logs.
Website analytics
- Vercel Web Analytics counts page views, the pages visited, the referring website, and broad details such as country and device type. It uses no cookies, does not identify you, and only gives us totals. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used.
- If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records how you move through the website, such as the pages you view and the buttons you click. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses, Google’s advertising features are switched off, and the data is kept for up to 14 months. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time on our cookie notice page.
How we use it, and why we are allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss the work you are interested in. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, and, where you ask us about a project, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep a record of our conversations, so we can follow up on what was agreed. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running the business properly.
- To deliver this website and protect it from misuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure.
We don’t use your information for marketing emails unless you separately ask to receive them, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for automated decision-making or profiling. We never pass enquiries to Giig or any other recruitment system.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf, under contracts that require them to keep it secure and use it only on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc., which hosts this website and provides cookieless visit statistics
- Google LLC, which provides Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies
- Zoho, which provides our business email and stores the emails we send and receive, in its EU data centre
- Resend, which delivers messages sent through the website’s enquiry form to our inbox, when the form is in use
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a dispute.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where personal information leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum in the provider’s data processing terms.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to work: up to two years after our last contact, then deleted.
- Enquiries that lead to work: for as long as we work together, and then for up to six years so that we can deal with any questions or claims.
- Hosting logs: deleted automatically by our hosting provider within a short period.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information
- ask us to send your information to another organisation, where that applies
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in “Who we are”. We will reply within one month. You don’t have to pay a fee.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website only sets cookies if you accept analytics cookies. Our cookie notice explains what is used and how to change your choice.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. This notice was written for Recruitment Connected’s website and enquiry process.
